  The Hip Circle was hacked about a year ago. You can access most of the info through the wayback machine (internet archive) but the site itself is now a virus host. If you click through it will screw up your computer.

  yeah, I don't remember the site but I have had that happen. I left pronto then in a fit of paranoia ran a full spy sweeper.

    Yea, my daughter went to one of those places and downloaded a trojan that my McAfee hadn't even heard of, yet. It took two tries by the Geek Squad to get my system operating again, and another virus scan to quarantine the last hidden file.

        Like most things, it's the few who like to cause harm (and the prospect, these days, of lots and lots of money) that drown out the people who are far more curious than harmful.
        
        (For the record, Computer Security was my Day Job up until recently, and I managed Servers before that.)

          OMG This just happened to me while searching for english translations for bellydance songs... I was clicking through it then saw some hezbollah linkages and thought hmmm better get off this site and then my computer crashed for a couple of days but was able to reset to the day before going on that site...! Ekkk
