Best way to offer workshop services?

I have been teaching a "Makeup & Hair for Belly Dancers" workshop here locally for about 2 years now. I am now at the point where I'd like to "take it on the road", so to speak, and offer this workshop to other venues/teachers/workshop sponsors regionally. My question is -- how do I tactfully & professionally put my services out there for offer? Should I send out Press Kits, like Lara was talking about earlier? Should I send out invitations for them to attend a current workshop? If they've already attended one that I've produced, how do I let them know that I am available "for hire" as well? I am new to this side of the fence, so any suggestions of what to do & what NOT to do would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Press kits? Actually I have never seen one for workshops. Press kits are for the press :-)

First of all you can contact workshops sponsors that you know personally.

What's important is that you have a good (not fancy but clear and up-to-date) website where people can find your information and read a bit about your workshop. So instead of giving out a lot of paper (which can not reflect any changes that you may want to do with the concept) rather have a card with the website address on it.

And if there are any festivals around where you can teach it would be great to ask them if you can participate. When you are there, talk to workshop sponsors and studio owners in person (wearing impeccable hair and make-up of course *grin*). Many people like the personal contact. Then give them your business card.

Mostly however what I have seen is that workshop offers are done by e-mail. Even Serena and Hossam Ramzy contacted me by e-mail asking for a workshop sponsor in Switzerland. So don't be afraid :-)

The best is always if you have somebody who can recommend you to a studio owner.

Prices are discussed later - they may also vary locally.

    Good luck!

I created a postcard on one of those printing websites. On the front is a full-color, gloss photo - on the back is a little blurb, something like "blah blah blah catch performances, classes and workshops in YOUR area" and then my email and website. I'm just scribbling the addresses of studios and slapping a post-stamp on them.... not random addresses, of course, but addresses of yoga studios and other places in the locations I want to hit that might be really interested. Follow up with a leetle email couldn't hurt, right?

I'll let you know if this works! Haha!
