Hi Monique, Djamila is on tribe and has her "Orient Academy"in Frankfurt/Offenbach. She is very kind and helpful and should be able to tell you about the area (she speaks English) www.djamila.de or www.orient-academy.de. Also Reyhan (Egyptian style) is in Frankfurt, and Momo Kadous lives there, our most important Egyptian teacher.

No, you don't have to have a degree or license to teach dancing. There are few private degrees. At Djamila's academy, they do teacher's training, Said el Amir specializes in that.

My friends at La Mezcla tribe are in the Netherlands. But they know just about everyone in the tribal scene in Northern Europe. Ask them.

I am moving to germany shortly (army family) and i plan to do shows that as soon as we get settled, not to mention being that europe has a lack of tribal dancers (being that ats is american) i want to do low scale beginners lessons....i am not qualified to do advanced lessons yet, but beginner level....

i plan to one day get certifiation to teach actual ats...

but anyways here is the question. for anyone tht has ever worked in europe. do i need a license in germany to dance and make profit? and for the teaching? for the teaching i planned just simple in home lessons, possibly working with the local military gym to help out with teaching classes. i know for certain countires you need an actual icense to dance...and i was not sur eif germany is one of them. of course i realize once i arrive in germany i have to get everything set up and check but just trying ot get a heads up right now.

to add in...if anyone knows anyone in the belly dance business located near wiesbaden, i would greatly appreciate a link or contact email. other than dancing myself and helping others get into it, i of course want to keep training and learn from new dancers so it is vital i learn the german dance scene asap!

thanks for your time ladies
